Yesterday I went up to Bellingham to speak to a visual journalism class at Western Washington University. I had a great time stepping into the world of academia for a day. During a break after lunch I was able to sketch a few of the great sculptures that are spread throughtout the beautiful campus. It's a very impressive collection with pieces by big names like Isamu Noguchi or Richard Serra.
On my way back home I stopped downtown and did a quick sketch of this National Historic Landmark, the Mt. Baker theater, built in 1927 and restored in 1996. The sky was of an intense blue and clear but it was freezing outside. There were some snowflakes falling earlier in the day in fact.
