Expedition to the park and ride

Gas has reached $4 per gallon (1 gallon = 3.78 liters) and it's ironic to see more Ford Expeditions and other gas guzzlers alike sitting at the park and ride. Woo hooo, that's what I call an Expedition! I already went on a rant about this issue a few days ago (here), but it doesn't hurt to bring it back. In fact, I may even start a series of sketches about vehicles I wish they'd became extinct.

  1. Love to cruise your drawings.
At an elementary school near me chic 120 pound mom's wheel up in a daily parade of these big suckers, which have never been off pavement, and drop off a tiny tot. They probably live, like, duh, 2 blocks away.

  2. I agree. There ought to be a law against using these big things now. I also don't get all the protection the owners give these monster cars that are designed to be driven off-road!

  4. This does my heart good - I'm so glad to hear that people are at least driving them less. Wonderful drawing, excellent rant!

  5. Great one Gabi! My sister-in-law tells me the same thing Don said in the first comment all the time! I wish I could park and ride. For now, I'll have to stick to working 2 days a week (12 hour days) with a commute. Fantastic view in your sketch!

  6. That would be a wonderful series, Gabi! I think you should do it.

I like this drawing a lot. Such cool angles and perspective, and simultaneousness plausible and surreal (where exactly is the top of your windshield?) in the way that the best sketches from life are.

  7. Agreed. I think it only fitting that the cars that consume the most dinosaurs go the way of the dinosaur, so rant on, Gabi, rant on!

  8. I won't be surprised if one day we see them in museums and will be thankful the era was 'short lived'. I wish I lived in an area where I could take advantage of public transportation. It just isn't here yet! BTW, like your new profile photo...I was right YOU ARE the handsomenest GAbi I know!
