Subway sketches in Washington D.C.

Browsing through old sketchbooks yesterday yielded a few more surprises. For example, I found a couple of pages with drawings I did on the subway when we lived in the Washington D.C. area. I loved taking the subway from our neighborhood in Northern Virginia and going to D.C. sometimes during the weekends —unfortunately, the subway wasn't convenient to get to work so my daily commute was by car. I remember taking Alex to the National Gallery several times and getting off at Smithsonian. I also remember how cold it was in the winter. I don't miss that!

Ah, an early taste of your mass-transit-sketching genius! You've really refined the art!

  2. Nice sketches Gabi! I love D.C. Hoping to get down there for a visit next month. We love Old Town Alexandria. Hope to hop down to Charlottesville too. We used to live there and can't wait to go back! Thanks for the post.

  3. Old Town Alexandria is really nice, I wish I had done more drawings there!

  4. Cool. I always feel so self-conscious drawin' people on the subway.
