Something with a handle

Back in early 2002, when I lived in Southern California, my friend Julia, art director of Tijuana's daily Frontera, invited me to pay a visit to her newsroom and share with her team of designers my experiences as a fellow art director of another newspaper, The Desert Sun in Palm Springs. It was my first and only time I've been in Mexico. I keep good memories of the trip and also one of the several mugs with Frontera's logo that Julia gave me to take back to my newsroom. Last night I drew it when I read that EDM's latest challenge was to draw something with a handle. I'm glad I still have it after moving to the East Coast and back. And even if it were to break now, I'll always have this drawing.

  1. Your drawing of the mug and pencils is great, especially the shine on the mug. Your job sounds very interesting.
